The Girchi-More Freedom party and the Bible Freedom religious organization founded by its plan to hold a rally in front of the Parliament of Georgia today on March 11 at 17:00.
"Only those who dream of becoming a soldier should join the army. Forced conscription is slavery. Slavery is immoral! A person is not a servant of the state.
Our demand is to abolish compulsory military service!", — stated in the statement.
The organizers of the action point out that "it is the duty of free people not to submit to slavery and to protect each other by all means":
"A government or a politician who treats a citizen like a slave deserves neither respect nor recognition and should be excluded from politics."
In the announcement of the event, more than 3,000 people indicated that they would take part in the action on March 11.
Hundreds of young men from the Girchi supporters group write that they will definitely come to the rally, because the planned changes in the Defense Code to tighten the conditions of the mandatory army will hinder their career and personal development, study and work, which will automatically worsen the financial situation of their families.
One of the main changes in the issue of conscription is related to "Biblical Freedom", which allows young people aged 18-27 to avoid conscription.
