Yazidi refugees who came to Germany from Iraq are becoming less protected – although just a few weeks ago the Bundestag classified crimes against representatives of Yazidi nation as genocide.

According to the Federal Office for Migration (BAMF), last year the office recognized less than half of the asylum petitions from Yazidis from Iraq, according to the content of which the decision to grant asylum was made, as needing protection.

Of the 4,706 asylum petitions submitted by Iraqi Yazidis to the Federal Office for Migration, 2,420 petitions were rejected.

While the Federal Agency continues to classify all asylum, petitions submitted by Yazidis from Syria as in need of protection and they are granted asylum, the recognition of petitions by Iraqi Yazidis has begun to decline in recent years.

According to the German Federal Office for Migration, Yazidi areas in Iraq are no longer under the control of the terrorist group ISIS. In 2017, the percentage of acceptance of asylum petitions submitted by Iraqi Yazidis reached 91.8 percent, and in 2022 — only 48.6 percent.

But unfortunately, Germany does not know that 43.2% of Yazidi families do not have the opportunity to emigrate from the country.

According to leftists, in recent years, the German Federal Office for Migration has issued thousands of refusals to Iraqi Yazidis, so many survivors of the genocide are afraid of deportation, despite the promise of protection from the German Bundestag.
