Georgia and the United Kingdom signed an air service agreement

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Genadi Arveladze and Minister of Aviation, Maritime Navigation and Security of Great Britain Baroness Vere signed an agreement on air communication between the countries. The ceremony was held in London.

The document was signed within the framework of the eighth round of the Wardrope Strategic Dialogue, Business Georgia reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development.

In accordance with the agreement, airlines are allowed to independently determine tariffs, capacity and frequency, air traffic will be possible between any points on the territory of the countries from which international air traffic will be carried out. The draft agreement will also regulate such important issues as flight safety and aviation safety, the granting of rights, the appointment of air carriers, the use of the Chicago Convention, the use of joint codes by airlines, etc.

The need for a bilateral air service agreement between the Governments of Great Britain and Georgia arose after the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union.
