Israel Week began in Georgia — this year its themes are business, culture, public diplomacy and international relations.

"We are building bridges between countries" is the motto of the week. The organizers are the Georgian-Israeli Business Chamber and the Israeli House, with the support of the Government of Georgia.

Traditionally, Israel Week in Georgia takes place during Hanukkah. And this time the first Hanukkah candle will be lit with the participation of Israeli guests.

A delegation of about a hundred people arrived in Georgia from Israel. Among them are representatives of Israeli business groups.

Half of the delegation are women interested in business and gender issues.

One of the honorary members of the delegation is Gidi Meir, grandson of the legendary Golda Meir, Prime Minister in 1969-1974, known as the "Iron Lady of Israel".

The delegation is headed by the head of the friendship group with Georgia in the Knesset, David Bitan.

The cycle of events began with a visit to the Georgian Schindler Park and the memorial, opened this year on the initiative of the House of Israel with the support of the Tbilisi City Hall.

At the business forum in Tbilisi, projects will be presented and the potential of the regions in various directions, including in the field of tourism, will be presented. The forum participants will receive the support of the Georgian government for investment projects and overcoming bureaucratic barriers.

According to Itsik Moshe, president of the Georgian-Israeli Business Chamber, it is rare when 100 businessmen come to Georgia from any country at once. He noted that the business forum, which will be held in Georgia during Israel Week, will be the 25th in a row.
