Garibashvili ruled out military assistance to Ukraine by the Georgian government

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said that military supplies to Ukraine were ruled out - this is the government's principled position.

"Regarding military assistance, we have clearly said that we will not provide military aid, we will never get involved in this conflict, in this war as a state - this is our clear position", the Prime Minister said.

The fact that the Ukrainian side appealed to Tbilisi several times after the start of the Russian invasion in February with a request to help with weapons and ammunition, Andrei Kasyanov, Charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, said at a briefing the day before.

Garibashvili said that the Georgian government has already done a lot to help Ukraine in the form of humanitarian aid and this will continue.

According to the Prime Minister, large volumes of humanitarian aid have been sent to Ukraine, both from the government and the population, Georgia also accepts Ukrainian refugees and training in the Ukrainian language has been organized.

"As for other additional aid, humanitarian aid, we will once again consider ways to help, and of course we will continue providing this aid", Garibashvili said.
