Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili confirmed that the government will allocate 70 million GEL (about $25 million) for the tours of world stars in Georgia in the next two years.

"The project will attract more tourists", Garibashvili said at a government meeting. According to him, concerts will take place during the peak season, from the beginning of summer to the first half of September, at stadiums and at the Black Sea Arena.

At the same time, the Prime Minister said, the government will allocate 200 million GEL from the budget next year for the program of development of new tourist locations and rehabilitation of existing facilities.

Georgian Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili said after the government meeting that attracting world-class stars to the country would bring benefits of several hundred million US dollars.

In general, according to his estimates, there is a real potential for tourism growth of 40-45%, which means more than a billion dollars.

"There is a real forecast that next year we will exceed the number of tourists before the pandemic, the data of 2019. This requires appropriate measures and cannot happen by itself. Funds are allocated for this direction. I can say that this is an economically very profitable project", Khutsishvili said.

According to the National Tourism Administration, Georgia received almost 4.4 million international travelers from January to October. Tourist visits — about 3 million, which is 137.9% more than in 2021, and 68.8% from 2019.

The top five leaders in visits to Georgia in January-October 2022 included: Russia, Turkey, Armenia, Israel and Ukraine.

At the same time, January-October 2022 tourists brought the country a record $2.9 billion, compared to the same period last year, an increase of 183%.
