A forum on the protection of the rights of the Yazidi minority will be held in Baghdad
The Iraqi Center for the Rights of National Minorities plans to hold a forum in Baghdad on the protection of the rights of the Yazidi minority, the purpose of which is "protection of rights - safe return - appropriate compensation - social integration of the Yazidi minority", the date of the forum is December 11.
The leadership of the forum will consist of a four-person team consisting of two members of the Yazidi community and two members of the organization. Dr. Ravnak Ahmed Mohamed, Dr. Mayada Ismail Rasho, Janan Shaker Elias, Shaima Hussein Mahdi.
General information collected at the moment: Data on the Yazidi community – The exact number of those killed is not known, because new and new graves with mass graves of the Yazidi population are being opened. At the moment, more than 7,224 people are considered to have been killed, the number of missing is 1,665, and the number of survivors is 4,108. The number of displaced persons living in camps in tents is 300,000 thousand people.
It was decided to launch a national campaign in defense of the Yazidi community. The campaign is aimed at achieving safe return, appropriate compensation and integration into the Iraqi community.
The organizers of the forum call on employees of international organizations or UN agencies, government officials, researchers and journalists to participate in the forum and become an integral part of the Iraqi and international national team participating in the launch of this campaign.
