A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives from the province of Shangal, Vian Dakhil, called on the Iraqi National Security Council to cancel the decision to cancel security checks in the liberated areas, calling it a big disaster, given the "terrorism" that has plagued Iraq in recent years.

Dakhil said at a press conference in the Iraqi parliament building that representatives of the Yazidi minority were very surprised by the decision of the National Security Council to cancel the security checks of citizens in the liberated areas. Dakhil noted that the issue of canceling security checks for citizens is a serious disaster, pointing out that many citizens in areas that fell under the control of terrorism participated in ISIS* and other banned groups during the period when the Iraqi provinces came under the control of these groups.

The Yazidi MP noted that the security check is very important and is carried out in all countries of the world, how is it possible to cancel it in a country like Iraq, which is suffering from terrorism with murders and kidnappings so far, adding that if the Prime Minister of Iraq wants to go to the United States, they will fully check all his biography, referring to compliance with this security procedure in all countries.

In a letter to Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces Mohammad Shia al-Sudani and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Halbousi, Dakhil stated: "If the security check is canceled, what will we tell the thousands of Yazidis and victims killed by terrorism, what will we do with mass graves, what will we tell the families of the victims of Hasfa in Mosul, residents of other affected areas and the families of the martyrs".

The Yazidi MP called for a review of the decision to cancel, while speeding up the security check process.

On September 20, 2022, the National Security Council decided to cancel the security check for IDPs inside Iraq and to keep the procedure only for IDPs from outside Iraq and others.
