As stated in the statement of the organization for the protection of the rights of Yazidis "Yazda", the Luxembourg Parliament officially recognized the genocide of the Yazidis.

"The official recognition of the Yazidi genocide was adopted by unanimous vote on November 9, 2022, and represents an important step forward in efforts to ensure justice and accountability for the Yazidi community. We express our great gratitude to the Government and Parliament of Luxembourg for their continued support of the Yazidi community and their efforts to combat human rights violations committed by ISIS", the statement said.

The United Nations Group investigating Atrocities in Iraq said it had found “clear and convincing evidence” that ISIS militants carried out genocide against the Yazidi minority in 2014.

Yazda reported that several proposals for the recognition of the Yazidi genocide were adopted thanks to their lobbying work by the House of Commons of Great Britain, the US Congress, the French National Assembly, the European Parliament, the House of Commons of Canada, the Parliament of Australia, the Parliament of Scotland, the Parliament of Armenia, the Parliament of Portugal, the Parliament of the Netherlands, the Parliament of Belgium, the European Parliament and the European Council.

In Iraq, a "law on the support of liberated Yazidi women and minorities" was adopted. Efforts are being made all over the world to help recognize the tragedy in Shangala as genocide. These are big steps to protect Yazidis, but the law on support for freed Yazidi women has not been fully implemented, and the situation of displaced Yazidis in the camps remains terrible.
