In Georgia, tourism revenue has been restored by 94.6% compared to 2019

In the first eight months of 2022, Georgia received $1.2 billion in revenue from tourism. Thus, income has been restored by 94.6% compared to the same period of the pre-pandemic 2019. The data is reported by the Ministry of Economy of Georgia.

Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili presented the report of the tourism and aviation industry for the current year.

According to the report, 3 892 605 foreign travelers visited Georgia in January-September. Compared to 2019, the number of international tourist visits in Georgia has recovered by 83.8%, and the number of visits by international travelers — by 65.3%.

The Ministry provides average data on spending in Georgia by tourists from different countries:

Saudi Arabia — $1729

Kazakhstan – $1511

Israel — $1379

United Arab Emirates — $1285

Belarus — $1110

Germany — $1081

Ukraine – $726

Russia — $712

Turkey — $658

Azerbaijan – $450

Armenia — $334.

Mariam Kvrivishvili presented Georgia's tourism strategy for 2025. According to these data, with the current dynamics of recovery, by 2025 Georgia's revenues from the tourism industry will be equal to $ 5.2 billion.
