The conference of Georgian Honorary Consuls - Cooperation for Strong Partnership was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. Honorary consuls from more than 50 countries of the world took part in the event.

"I would like to note with satisfaction that after the first meeting held in 2014, the number of honorary consuls of Georgia in 64 countries increased from 19 to 85. This fact clearly shows how much we strive to further expand the network of honorary consuls of Georgia around the world. Your active participation and promotion of Georgia is important for its popularization as a reliable destination, business and key transit and logistics hub", Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said in his speech.

"The purpose of the Institute of Honorary Consuls is to raise awareness about the represented country and its popularization in the host state, as well as to establish close cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, tourism, science and culture. Providing legal assistance to needy citizens of the represented country. Georgia has up to 90 honorary consuls in 64 countries of the world", the Georgian Foreign Ministry said.
