The Moscow House of Nationalities hosted a grand opening of an art exhibition of Russian-Yezidi paintings by Nodar Sadoyan. The event was organized by the All-Russian public organization "Yezidi Congress" to help preserve the historical, spiritual and cultural community of the Yezidis.
The event was attended by the director of the Moscow House of Nationalities Sergey Sergeevich Anufrienko, an employee of the Cultural Centre of the Armenian Embassy in Russia, representatives of the Yezidi diaspora and art connoisseurs. Sergey Anufrienko thanked the Yazidi Congress for organizing the exhibition and noted that the doors of the Moscow House of Nationalities for the Yazidi Congress and the Yazidi people are always open.
Briefly about the artist Nodar Sadoyan
Nodar Sadoyan was born on November 27, 1974 in Armenia. After graduating from school, Nodar entered an art college, but he could not graduate from it, as his family had to leave for Ukraine.
The first work of the artist was a portrait of his father, which Nodar painted in 1986 and this is how the professional work of the artist began. One of the major works of a talented young Yezidi artist was a proposal to restore one of the churches of Ukraine, Nodar gladly took up this work.
In 1995, the Sadoyan family moved to Russia, to the city of Yaroslavl. There Nodar graduated from the construction college. Although at the moment Nodar owns his own construction company, but a talented person still manages to find time for creativity.
As the artist himself says, “Although I am not a professional artist, I enjoy the process of creating my creations”.
We remind you that the exhibition can be visited from August 11 to 26 at the Moscow House of Nationalities. The exhibition presents paintings by Yezidi artist Nodar Sadoyan on various topics:
"Dream", "Valentine's Day Holiday", "Love", "Holiday", "Sunset", "Pomegranate and life", "Family at the temple", "Friendship", "Happiness", "Yaroslavl. Tolgsky Convent", etc. The daily life of the Yezidi people is reflected in the paintings "Life in the mountains", "Morning Prayer", "Kulich". There are also expositions dedicated to the genocide of the Yezidis in Iraq.
