On July 9, 2022, an online meeting was held between the head of the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yazidis Iuri Smoev and the Yazidi blogger-activist Vazir Aloyan. Questions and problems of the Yezidi people living in Georgia were raised.  During meeting were noted problems of the Yezidi minority in Georgia. They were: not knowing the history of their people, the loss of "language" and as a consequence, the loss of identity.

Integration into Georgian society without taking into account the peculiarities of access to education in their native language and the creation of comfortable conditions for the development of culture led to the disintegration and dissolution of the Yezidi community in Georgia. Over the past 30 years, there has been a great emigration and assimilation of the Yezidi people. Yazidi youth have almost forgotten their native language, culture and history.  Young people are not speaking their language and cannot even read and write in their native language.

Also, during the conversation, the main priorities and directions of the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yazidis were announced.

Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yazidis actively works with many leading Asian human rights organizations and also successfully works with UN committees on the rights of national minorities.
