The Yezidi population has nowhere to buy gasoline.

By the decision of the Council of Ministers of Iraq and with the direct implementation of the Iraqi security services, all gas stations in the Nineveh region were closed, and this decision applies to the Sinjar and Sinun districts, the places of residence of the Yezidi population.

The authorities justified their decision by saying that these stations are the reason for the smuggling of a large amount of gasoline and kerosene. Fuel is sold at private gas stations at a cheaper price than at state gas stations.

The owner of a private gas station told local media: "We hope that the government will give us a temporary period to comply with the laws issued by the Council of Ministers, the decision to close private gas stations will negatively affect the lives of citizens, because quotas for gasoline and kerosene come to state gas stations, citizens are simply obliged to buy fuel at a higher price than at private stations."

The decision to close private stations caused a gasoline and kerosene crisis, because the share of Sinjar and its government gas stations is very small compared to other areas of Nineveh, every station that does not comply with the new law is closed before its implementation or is fined.

The closure of private speakers caused the indignation of the local Yezidi population. Many already have nothing to live on, and the double increase in gasoline and kerosene prices is a disaster for the local Yezidi population.
