Prominent figures of the Yezidi community are trying to do everything so that more and more countries recognize the genocide of the Yezidis.

Nadia Murad is the person who makes a great contribution to the Yezidi community, Nadia does everything to ensure that justice is done to the Yezidis, her trips to different parts of the world in order not to leave indifferent and tell the truth about her community bear fruit. Its main goal is to recognize the genocide of the Yezidis.

I would like to announce for our viewers a small chronology of the recognition of the genocide of the Yezidis :

- On November 18, 2014, the Government of Iraq, the Council of Ministers, adopted a decision by which it recognized the crime of "ISIS" against Yezidis, Christians and other national minorities as genocide.

- On January 27, 2016, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution stating that terrorist acts have recently been committed by persons representing themselves on behalf of a terrorist entity – the "Islamic State", carrying out genocidal actions and other grave crimes established by international law. States should proceed from the fact that ISIS is carrying out genocide and should know that this will lead to the application of the relevant provisions of the 1948 UN Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crimes of Genocide.

- On December 6, 2016, the French Senate unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing the actions of ISIS against the Yezidis as genocide, while simultaneously calling on the government to also recognize the genocide of the Yezidis.

- On March 23, 2017, the Scottish Parliament recognized and condemned the "genocide committed" by ISIS against the Yezidis, and called on the UK government to refer the case through the UN Security Council to the International Criminal Court.

- On January 16, 2018, the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia recognized and condemned the genocide carried out by terrorist groups against the Yezidi people. At the same time calling on international organizations to investigate these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice, as well as take measures to ensure the safety of the Yezidi population and provide them with humanitarian assistance, sparing no effort to prevent human rights violations.

- On July 15, 2021, the Belgian Parliament voted for the official recognition of the crimes of the "Islamic State" (IS) against the religious minority of the Yezidis as genocide.

- In 2021, the Dutch Parliament officially recognized the genocide of the Yezidis.

Nadia Murad's meeting in 2022 with the chairman of the German Parliament gives every chance for the Bundestag to decide on the recognition of the Yazidi genocide in 2014. She also commented on the meeting:

"Today I had the pleasure to meet in Berlin with the Chairman of the German Parliament, Ms. Berbel Bas, to call on the Parliament to officially recognize the genocide of the Yezidis and support efforts to stabilize security in the Sinjar region.

I made a speech at the petitions committee and discussed with members of Parliament the importance of the official recognition of the Yazidi genocide. I also asked the German Government to shift its attention to more sustainable ways to end the protracted displacement of the Yazidis. I stressed that IDP camps create inadequate living conditions and destabilize my community."
