Olive oil production in Lalesh
One of the ancient Yezidi traditions is to harvest olives at the Lalesh temple, from which olive oil is later made. Male volunteers press olives in the courtyard of the temple, squeezing oil from them, which is used only for lighting lamps in the Lalesh temple and other religious shrines.
