The Yazidi population of Iraq is horrified and desperate by Iraq's decision to accept repatriates from the al-Khol camp, which houses families of ISIS who are radically discordant against the Iraqi population, and against the Yazidi minority.
Moreover, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) Janine Hennis-Plasschert announced:
"Iraq's decision taken at the beginning of 2021 to resume voluntary return from the Syrian al-Khol camp can only be welcomed. In fact, in terms of active steps to fulfill its obligations to repatriate its citizens, Iraq has set an example on the world stage. Since May 2021, about 450 families, or almost 1,800 people, have been repatriated. We are ready to continue to provide the necessary humanitarian assistance, protection, and reintegration assistance after return. And we sincerely hope that Member States and donors will support us in this. Let's face it, the al-Khol camp is a time bomb. If it explodes, it will affect not only the region, but also leave a trace far beyond its borders. Its neutralization should be our collective priority," she concluded.
She also stressed that Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazimi and National Security Adviser Qasim al-Araji played an important role in ensuring that a wide range of ministries and institutions make concerted efforts to achieve a common goal.
It seems that Europe and the United States want to get rid of ISIS families, but they do not know how and how to do it, they invest millions of dollars in the resettlement of terrorist families in Iraq not far from the areas where camps for Yazidi refugees and displaced persons are located, who have already been attacked by ISIS.
Meanwhile, the National Security Adviser said that the Iraqi government will announce further steps to receive more Iraqi families living in the al-Khol camp in the coming months. The ISIS family camp holds 30,000 Iraqis, 20,000 of whom are under the age of 18.
The Yazidi population of Iraq is outraged by such actions of the Iraqi government, but they have nowhere to turn.
In total, more than 56,000 people live in the camp, including foreign families of militants of the terrorist group ISIS.
