"In the modern world, in the conditions of globalization, we cannot turn away from suffering. We cannot close our hearts" - Former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

We (the Cultural Center of the Caucasus Yezidis) wrote earlier that Yezidi migrants in European countries face injustice, namely, long bureaucratic procedures that at best last months are obstacles to obtaining refugee status.

Our organization managed to contact the Yezidis who are trying to obtain refugee status and those who have already passed this bureaucratic hell in European countries. Our informants told us that the Yezidis, who are fleeing from a difficult life and want to get this long-awaited statute, are refused, because there are "no places" for them. These places should be occupied by Ukrainian refugees, so, because of the war in Ukraine, according to official data, about 4.5 million people fled to European countries to escape.

I would not like to write about the double standards of European states again, but alas, there is no way without it. The logical question arises, why not give "places" to the Yezidis too, because they do not run away from the good life and from resort places? It's sad, but that's the reality.

We are in solidarity with the fact that Ukrainian citizens receive a refugee status without any problems, we Yezidis have also been through this and are going through it. It turns out that the words of former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, that we should not close our hearts, has a subtext, that for some we close our hearts, and for others not?

Agree with the fact that this is an ambivalent action in relation to those who are going through the war. To the peoples of the Middle East, stereotypical thinking is self-evident, so we Yezidis also face bureaucratic hell.

We Yazidis need to remember that we ourselves must help each other, if you can help the Yazidis who want to get a refugee not from a better life, you should do it, an example can always be taken from the Jewish people.
If you are reading this and know how to help the Yezidis avoid or facilitate hellish bureaucratic processes, help them, because you once went through this and you know perfectly well how difficult it is.
