There are many talented artists among the Yezidis who have made a great contribution to the development of Yezidi culture. Especially memorable is the work of those whose paintings contain national motifs. So, among the artists, Base Jafarova stands out for her originality.
Jafarova Base Payalovna was born in 1943 in Tbilisi, died on December 8, 2018, after a long illness.
Base Payalovna became interested in drawing in the fourth grade. As she said in an interview, her schoolteacher instilled in her a love of drawing.
Base Payalovna graduated from the Georgian Academy of Arts, was a member of the Union of Artists of Georgia, had many international awards. Since 1972, she has actively participated in republican, All-Union and foreign art exhibitions.
Jafarova's works are kept in the State Museum of Georgia, in the collections of the Academy of Arts and the National Gallery, as well as in private collections in Russia, the USA, France, Germany, Belgium, Australia, Israel, Greece, Turkey, Japan and Ukraine.
