Several important changes to the credit guarantee schemes will be made to the state program "Produce in Georgia".
In the field of grant support for entrepreneurship in Georgia from 2022, priority will be given to starting a business by people with disabilities, as well as young entrepreneurs, the press service of the government administration reports.
According to the decision of the Government of Georgia, a few important changes will be made to the state program "Produce in Georgia", namely, credit guarantee schemes, promotion of industrial, micro and small businesses, hotel business, exports.
In addition, with the support of the European Union, pilot regions will be identified - Imereti, Kakheti, Guria, Racha-Lechkhumi, Kvemo Svaneti and the volume of grants to be issued to beneficiaries will increase - in pilot regions it will be 40 thousand lari, and in other regions - 30 thousand lari.
Also, a part of export technical assistance will be added to the "Produce in Georgia" program:
-Licensing/certification of products, the direction will be financed by 20 thousand lari;
-Branding and packaging of the product - will be financed in the amount of 20 thousand lari;
-Promotion of international sales – the amount of financing equivalent to 10 thousand euros in national currency.
According to the government's decision, the deadline for submitting applications in the universal, industrial part of the program has been extended for a year. In this component, it will be possible to participate in investment funds or be given the opportunity to issue subsidized loans. The minimum number of mandatory hotel rooms will be halved to five instead of ten.
Beneficiaries participating in the "hotel and balneological resorts industry", whose production start date expires at the end of this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the obligation to start work will be postponed for one year.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation in the film industry support component will also be extended from January 3, 2022 to December 15, 2022. The term of use of the "credit guarantee scheme" will be extended for the same period.
The government program "Produce in Georgia" was created in the summer of 2014 and is aimed at stimulating local production in the country. In April 2017, the agency of the same name was created, which combined all government programs aimed at promoting the business sector and economic development of the country.
Agency programs: subsidizing loans and collateral, which cover more than 200 types of activities, and microgrants, which relate to more than 300 types of activities.
