Will December 21 become a "critical day" for Georgian politics?

The date is not without shades of the astral: Stalin was born on December 21, and many years later – Saakashvili and Melia. Weight categories, of course, are different, but there is a common thing - a craving for revolutionary scenarios. The press is wondering what the large-scale opposition rally announced for 21 will turn out to be?
The United National Movement, founded by Saakashvili, tries not to link this date with the birthday of the ex-president, they assure that it was chosen arbitrarily (Sakartvelos Republika, 17-19.12). Perhaps the party leadership is no longer sure that the "Saakashvili factor" is able to play a stimulating role. But a rally on such a day easily leads to undesirable associations – it was customary to celebrate dates in the life of authoritarian leaders with mass events.
However, the real motives are all too obvious. And if the broad masses of citizens do not respond to the call, this, according to political scientists, will be a real disaster for the "National Movement" and the beginning of the collapse of the opposition ("Resonance", 17.12).

Reconciliation or surrender?

Conversations about national reconciliation have recently become almost the most relevant, one might even say, fashionable topic for the press. But it doesn't go beyond talking.
