A bill on online casinos will be submitted to the Parliament of Georgia this week

The draft amendments on new taxation mechanisms for online casinos, prepared by the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, will be submitted to Parliament this week. This was announced by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
Recently, the Prime Minister took the initiative to tighten the rules of the online casino. At the first stage, it is planned to raise taxes for this type of business, ban advertising and raise the age barrier of users to 25 years. The second stage provides for a complete ban on the operation of all online casinos.
Garibashvili noted that 1.5 billion lari lost in online casinos flows out of Georgia every year.
"In connection with the online casino, Finance Minister Lasha Khutsishvili contacted the parliament, we had consultations, and this week the bill will be initiated to quickly implement the relevant changes," the prime minister said.
