Some restaurants in Georgia conduct rapid testing for coronavirus at the entrance to visitors who do not have "covid passports", which is unacceptable. This is stated in the statement of the Labor Inspectorate under the Ministry of Health of Georgia.
"The Labor Inspectorate clarifies and urges the relevant catering facilities not to make mistakes and not to use such a method of maintenance, since covid testing is authorized to be carried out by a person/laboratory with a permit and qualification," the statement says.
The inspection reminds that the "green" status is given to persons who have either completed a full course of vaccination, or have had coronavirus, or those who have received a negative result of a PCR test (valid for 72 hours) or an antigen test (valid for 24 hours). At the same time, only laboratories that have received the appropriate permission can conduct testing.
On December 1, a system of digital "green passports" began operating in Georgia. Now, in order to visit catering facilities, hotels, theaters, museums, fitness centers and cable cars at ski resorts, citizens over the age of 18 must present an electronic document in which their covid status is registered.
For vaccinated and coronavirus-infected persons, the validity period of covid passports is indefinite, but the authorities plan to revise this item soon.
