The Georgian government is discussing the conditions for the use of the "green passports" system in public transport. This was stated by the head of the Ministry of Health of Georgia Ekaterina Tikaradze in an interview with Channel One.
"Covid passport" or "green passport" is an electronic document in which data on the covid status of a citizen is entered. From December 1, in Georgia, without such a pass, it is impossible to visit catering facilities, entertainment centers, cinemas, theaters, museums, concert halls, casinos, spa centers, hotels, gyms, winter resorts and cable cars.
"We are intensively consulting on how to use "green passes" in transport so that they are more feasible and controllable. Only after that we will formulate what recommendations we will give and what rules regarding transport will be in the future," Tikaradze said.
At the same time, she pointed out that the list of institutions where the covid-pass operates today is "not accidental."
"It is important to gradually monitor the regulations of covid-passes, control the executive mechanisms and only then gradually transfer them to other sectors.
As for transport, I agree that transport contains certain risks, but it should also be noted that regulations cannot be introduced just for the sake of regulations. It is important that every regulation is feasible," the head of the Ministry of Health said.
A citizen can get a "green" or safe status after a full course of vaccination or after presenting a document about the transferred coronavirus. You can also get a green passport temporarily - for 72 hours after a negative response to a PCR test, as well as for a day in case of passing an express test.
