According to the National Bank of Georgia, the number of foreign visitors for the autumn of 2021 increased by 313.7 percent compared to the previous year.
According to the report of the National Bank, the number of tourists amounted to 91.8 percent of the total number of visitors and increased by 331.5 percent over the year.
According to the National Bank, the number of one-day visits increased significantly in the reporting month.
"Against the background of relatively active tourism, the weakening of measures to contain the pandemic in Georgia and the full opening of borders, the number of foreign tourists continued to increase. The annual increase in visitors in autumn was 313.7 percent, although this is due to the underlying effect since tourism practically stopped in the second half of last year. Compared to October 2019, 69.1 percent fewer visitors came. The largest contribution to the growth in the number of visitors from the countries of the region was made by visitors from Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. The number of visitors from EU countries increased 9.6 times, which amounted to 36.6 percentage points in the overall growth. Especially, the number of visitors from Poland and Germany has increased. Among other countries, the number of visitors from Israel is noteworthy, both in terms of growth and high contribution to overall growth,"- the review of the National Bank of Georgia says.
