Lalesh Temple is a shrine for the Yezidi people, where history, holiness, heritage and traditions, mountains and trees, springs and fresh water, tranquility and serenity, faith, ancient spiritual rituals, and ceremonies to the tune of a tambourine, baptism, where purity of soul and reverence for the Creator (Hoda) is felt, ribbed conical domes with unique architecture, caves and shrines are a place of worship for Yezidis, wherever they are.
In addition, Lalesh Temple is the center of attention of most writers and researchers, a source of inspiration for poets and artists, a meeting place for diplomats, those interested in history and beliefs.
The administration of the temple is required to facilitate the task of many visitors, whether Yezidis or non-Yezidis, to achieve the desired goal and intended destination on the territory of the temple.
In the past, the Lalesh Temple lacked illustrative maps of archaeological sites, sacred sites, alleys, and roads so that they could be relied upon when compiling a guide to the temple, since before that only old images and plans drawn by artists, travelers, writers, archaeologists who visited the Lalesh temple were available.
It is worth noting that at the end of 2011, the German company compiled the necessary maps and plans of all shrines, archaeological sites, roads, and alleys with real dimensions in accordance with current reality, starting with the main road leading to the temple through aerial photography.
To continue the reconstruction of the Lalesh Temple, in 2017 the Yezidi Spiritual Council approved the participation of Yezidi sponsors in the restoration and expansion of shrines and holy places in the temple, which will be added to the total number of projects implemented by the Kurdistan Regional Government. The Yezidi Spiritual Council sent an official letter to the Government of Kurdistan to update the terrain plan, after which, on July 30, 2021, new aerial photographs were taken by professors of Dahuk University, with the Lalesh Engineering Reconstruction Committee and His Eminence Bawe Chavish.
It is important that the reconstruction process and the compilation of guidebooks are carried out in the correct archaeological order and in accordance with the master plan mentioned above, and that the ancient archaeological and religious sites are preserved without fundamental changes or compromise and are proportionate to the sanctity of the Lalesh Temple.
The project was implemented with the support of sponsors and charitable foundations, a committee consisting of Yezidi engineers and His Eminence Bawe Chavish.
