The trade turnover between Georgia and Russia has increased by 21.8% since the beginning of 2021 compared to January-October 2020 and amounted to $ 1.2 billion, and exports from Russia to Georgia increased by 37.2%, according to the National Statistics Service of Georgia "Sakstat".
89.4 thousand tons of mineral and fresh water, about 87.9 thousand tons of ferroalloys, more than 38.2 thousand tons of natural grape wine and about 24.9 thousand tons of fruits and so on have been exported from Georgia to the Russian Federation since the beginning of the year.
Russia remains the largest grain supplier to Georgia. Wheat with a total weight of more than 291.6 thousand tons has been imported from Russia since the beginning of the year.
About 263.5 thousand tons of oil gases, 180.6 thousand tons of oil and petroleum products, 24.2 thousand tons of sunflower oil and so on were also imported from Russia.
In 2020, Russia and Georgia traded more than $ 1.3 billion, which is 9.9% less than in 2019. Despite this, Russia was the main market for Georgian agri-food products in 2020.
