Nine more deputies of the Georgian Parliament have stopped their hunger strike
Nine deputies of the Georgian Parliament from the opposition United National Movement party have stopped their hunger strike. This was stated by Akaki Minashvili at a briefing.
The decision was announced after the imprisoned ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili agreed to be transferred to a military hospital in Gori and to end his hunger strike, which he continued for exactly 50 days.
"The main issue that worried each of us, because of which we were very worried, because it concerned the life and health of the leader of our party, as well as the third president of Georgia, has been resolved positively at this stage and therefore we are ending the hunger strike," Minashvili said.
In addition to Minashvili, since November 14, David Kirkitadze, Temur Janashia, Bachuki Kardava, Nika Machutadze, Giorgi Godabrelidze, Sulkhan Sibashvili, Levan Bezhashvili and Abdulla Ismailov have also continued the hunger strike in the parliament building.
Earlier, the termination of the hunger strike was also announced by the deputy of the Parliament of Georgia, the leader of the party "Droa" Elene Khoshtaria. She starved for 17 days.
The only requirement of all ten politicians was the transfer of Saakashvili to a multidisciplinary clinic.
