Residents of Georgia can download a covid certificate (covid passport) using the Georgia e-Health application.
The app will be available today, November 17, in the App Store or Google Store mobile app store.
This was announced by the head of the Coordinating Intergovernmental Council, Georgy Gibradze.
Georgia has joined the unified system of digital covid certificates of the European Union, which currently includes 49 countries.
This decision was made the day before by the European Commission. Now Georgian citizens who have a certificate of a full course of vaccination will be able to use them on the territory of the European Union.
This means that the certificates of vaccination, transferred illness and PCR testing issued in Georgia will be considered in this common space.
"Today, all technical work related to this connection will be completed, and from today we will fully connect to the unified system. To use this certificate, you can download the corresponding application called Georgia e-Health from the APP store and Google Store, go through a fairly simple registration and get all the information," Gibradze explained.
The application also issues so-called QR codes –kewar codes) - this is information about the covid status of a citizen compressed to the level of icons, which is read by a special device.
The certificate and/or QR code can also be obtained electronically on the platform of the Ministry of Health https://covidpass.moh.gov.ge /, and also in the House of Justice.
The "green passports" received from today in the House of Justice can already be used to travel abroad.
However, those citizens who have issued a "green passport" earlier will have to go through this procedure again and update the document so that the data appears in the EU system.
"Unfortunately, technically the system did not allow applying the same system to already issued Covid-passports. Any Covid passport issued from today will be automatically included in the system. Before leaving abroad, it is necessary to update the Covid-passport taken from the House of Justice," Gibradze said.
He also warned that before going abroad, you should familiarize yourself with the covid-regulations of a particular country, valid at the time of the trip.
