According to the Ministry, the Ministry of Economy considered the application of the Agency for Refugees, Eco-Migrants and Livelihood of Georgia, prepared a corresponding resolution and submitted it to the Government of Georgia for approval.
According to official data, since 2012, more than 27 thousand families of internally displaced persons have been provided with housing. To date, 286.8 thousand people have the status of internally displaced persons in Georgia - more than 90 thousand families. A total of 37.8 thousand displaced families live in Tbilisi.
The state gradually gives apartments to families, but they have to stand in line for years. In order to get an apartment or a house, internally displaced persons must fill out a special application. On its basis, the agency awards them points from 0 to 10, depending on the material security and the need for new housing. After that, the commission personally examines the issue of each internally displaced person on the spot.
