Following the results of the elections, Georgian Dream won 66% of the mandates in the city and municipal assemblies. Chairman of the GM Irakli Kobakhidze said this at a briefing, presenting the results of a parallel vote count conducted by the party.
Municipal elections in Georgia were held on October 2. Residents elected mayors and deputies to local government bodies.
According to the calculations of the ruling party, 2,068 seats in Sakrebulo among the parties were distributed as follows:
- "Georgian Dream" — 1,331 mandates;
- “United National Movement — 502;
- “For Georgia" - 109;
- "Lelo" — 27;
-"European Georgia" — 18;
-"Third Force - Agmashenebeli Strategy" - 8;
-"Mechiauri - for united Georgia— 6;
-"Alliance of Patriots of Georgia" — 5;
-"European Socialists— 4;
-"Labor Party" — 3;
-"People's Party" — 3;
-"Progress and Freedom— 2;
-"For the people" - 2;
-"Citizens" — 1;
-"GIrchi— 1;
-"GIrchi — more freedom" - 1;
-Independent deputies — 2.
The second round of elections in Georgia is scheduled for October 30. It will be held in 20 of the 64 municipalities where none of the candidates has overcome the 50% barrier. The second rounds will be held, including in the five largest cities of Georgia - Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Poti and Rustavi.
