CEC: 3,497,345 potential voters in Georgia
There are 3,497,345 potential voters in Georgia, according to the country's Central Election Commission (CEC).
The Agency for the Development of Public Services has handed over to the CEC an updated list of voters compiled based on an electronic database.
"The Central Election Commission has processed these data, divided them by electoral districts and precincts. The updated unified list of voters is already available to everyone on the CEC website, " the press secretary of the Central Election Commission, Natia Ioseliani, said at a briefing.
According to her, the number of voters in Tbilisi is 1,002,900 people. Of these, 41,314 voters registered in the Krtsanis district will participate in the elections using electronic technologies for the first time.
Also, according to Ioseliani, the number of voters who will reach the age of majority by October 2 and will have the right to vote for the first time this year is 39,135 people.
The printing of ballots for voting in municipal elections began today, September 25, in 9 printing houses. This process is observed by both CEC members and representatives of observer organizations.
Elections in Georgia will be held on October 2. Residents of 64 cities and districts will choose mayors and deputies of local advisory bodies – sakrebulo.
