Representatives of the government of Adjara continue to give food for discussing the project of building an artificial island in the Black Sea near the coast of Batumi.

On the eve of the Chairman of the Government of Adjara Tornike Rizhvadze took the initiative to implement a project in Batumi like the" Palm island " in the Arab Emirates — a bulk island near the coast, built up with luxury hotels and villas.

Rizhvadze did not specify the details of the project and did not name a possible investor of the expensive undertaking. He only mentioned that this year we will start studying the issue. Nevertheless, the project began to be actively discussed on the web, although mostly users do not really believe in the plans for the construction of an artificial island. Many commentators call on the authorities of Adjara to pay more attention to the improvement of Batumi and resort areas.

Meanwhile, graphic sketches of an artificial island that is supposed to be built in Batumi have spread on Facebook this evening.

This was confirmed after the graphics were posted on his page by the head of the Adjara government apparatus, Jaba Surmanidze – he even made a caption to the sketches: "What will be an artificial island in Batumi (preliminary version)".

According to the graphic sketches, the bulk island near the coast of Batumi is supposed to be built on the outskirts of the city, not far from the "settlement of Tamara", near the railway station.

On the same territory, it is planned to build a skyscraper with a height of 131 meters and a bridge.

According to the local publication "Batumelebi", construction companies say that they do not know anything about the upcoming project.
