Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili will deliver a speech at the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the press service of the government administration reports.
The head of the Georgian government will visit New York on September 20-25. The UN General Assembly will officially open on September 21.
According to the press service of the government, during the visit to the United States within the framework of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, high-level bilateral meetings of the Prime Minister of Georgia are planned.
"The Prime Minister will address the participants of the general debate from the UN rostrum on September 24. In his speech, Irakli Garibashvili will focus on the challenges facing Georgia and the international community, and on the importance of joint efforts in the process of solving them," the message reads.
The Georgian delegation led by the Prime Minister includes Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia David Zalkaliani, Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Chkhenkeli and Head of the Government Administration Ilya Darchiashvili.
The regular 76th session of the UN General Assembly opened in New York on Tuesday, September 14. From September 21 to September 27, the leaders of the UN member states are scheduled to speak at the session.
