Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili criticized former President Mikheil Saakashvili and predicted the opposition's defeat in the upcoming October 2 elections.
"Saakashvili and his gang will be defeated again in the elections on October 2," Garibashvili, who is in Khashuri, said in an interview with journalists.
Speaking about Saakashvili's intention to come to Georgia for the upcoming elections, Garibashvili said that "Saakashvili is" deceiving his voters again " and is not going to come to his homeland.
If Saakashvili does come, the prime minister promised that he would be detained at the airport and sent to prison.
"These people, Saakashvili, his murderers, and the mafia gang that ruled our country for nine years, committed unprecedented atrocities against our people and, unfortunately, this continues to this day. What is happening today is a direct informational psychological war against our people. For the ninth year in a row, our people have endured this war, the abomination that comes from their TV companies. This is a direct struggle against the Georgian people, the state, the church, a struggle in which they will again be defeated on October 2, " the prime minister said.
This comment of the prime minister also refers to the scandal that broke out the day before-the opposition media reported that thousands of files with audio recordings of wiretapping of clergy, including nuns, priests, metropolitans and even members of the Synod of the Patriarchate, got on the Internet.
According to the TV companies "Mtavari", "Formula" and "Pirveli", the recordings were posted anonymously by a former employee of the State Security Service of Georgia. Several thousand audio files contain compromising personal data.
Meanwhile, Garibashvlii does not doubt the victory of the "Georgian Dream" in the elections and promises "to give a worthy answer to all traitors and all enemies."
Garibashvili also called the" historic " victory in the elections on October 1, 2012, when the Georgian Dream party, founded by billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili, came to power in Georgia.
