IRAQ: 32 civil society organizations call for the implementation of the Law on Yazidi Survivors
Civil society's dissatisfaction with the delay in the implementation of the Law on Yazidi Survivors
The Coalition for Fair Compensation, which includes 32 civil society organizations, held a conference entitled " Six months after the adoption of the law on Yazidi survivors. "Steps forward"".
The conference is designed to demand the application of the law and the payment of compensation allocated to the victims, while the government has responded to some of these demands and paid part of the compensation from the emergency budget for the Yazidi survivors in the amount of 500 million dinars.
The head of the Department for the protection of interests and communications of the Yazda organization, Vian Khalaf Darvish, said: "Although six months have passed since the adoption of the law on Yazidis, it has not yet been implemented. None of the survivors received their right to compensation."
The Coalition for Fair Compensation today issues a statement expressing the dissatisfaction of civil society with the delay in the implementation of the Law on Yazidi Survivors."
In her speech, Darvish pointed out that the "coalition" calls for the payment of comprehensive compensation to civilian victims for the brutal crimes committed by the ISIL terrorist group in Iraq, and stressed that 32 non-governmental organizations of different ethnic origins and religious institutions have been established in various parts of Iraq. This coalition was formed to work on compensation payments to survivors and other victims of terrorist crimes. The Coalition relies on international human rights and national legislation to promote the right to compensation for all civilian victims.
