Explosion in a camp for Yazidi IDPs: two dead, three injured

On the evening of August 30, a large explosion occurred in a camp for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Dohuk province of Iraqi Kurdistan. Two people were killed and three were injured, including children.
The cause of the explosion is not yet clear, the investigation is ongoing.
According to rumors, before a loud explosion, fighter jets hovered over the area. However, official sources denied these claims, saying that preliminary reports do not indicate possible airstrikes.
A medical source said that at least one of the wounded is in critical condition.
In the camp "Qadi", located in the district of Zakho, the largest number of internally displaced persons-Yazidis who fled their homes in Sinjar in 2014, when the area was captured by the terrorists of the "ISIS”
Years after declaring victory over ISIS on the territory of Iraqi Kurdistan, including 36 in the camps are still living 925 532 refugee and internally displaced persons.
The Kadiya camp is home to 2,390 families with a total population of almost 12,500 people.
