The recognition of the genocide of the Yazidis

On 18 November 2014, the government of Iraq, the Council of Ministers, adopted a decision that recognized the crime of Daesh against Yazidis, Christians and other national minorities as genocide.

On 27 January 2016, the parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted a resolution stating that recently terrorist acts have been committed by persons who represent themselves on behalf of the terrorist entity – the Islamic state (Daesh), carry out genocide actions and other serious crimes established by international law. States should proceed from the premise that Daesh carries out genocide and should know that this will lead to the application of the relevant provisions of the UN Convention of 1948 "On the prevention and punishment of the crimes of genocide".

On 4 February 2016, the European Parliament adopted a resolution outlining its position that persecution, barbarism and international crimes are war crimes and crimes against humanity. The text emphasizes that the so-called Daesh/ISIS is committing genocide against Yazidis, Christians and other religious and national minorities who do not agree with the interpretation of Daesh/ISIS Islam. And, therefore, it will result in the application the conventions of genocide" with the accentuation of the fact that all those who purposefully and on the basis of religious or ethnic motives involved, plans, instigates, carries out or attempts to carry out a crime, is an accomplice or an abettor of the atrocities should be prosecuted and be subject to criminal liability for violation of international law, war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.

On March 14, 2016, the us House of representatives declared with 393 votes in FAVOR and 0 – against that "the atrocities committed by ISIS in Iraq and Syria against Christians, Yazidis and other religious and national minorities constitute war crimes. On June 15, 2016, the UN Independent international Commission for investigation of events in Syria published a report on ISIS crimes against the Yazidis. It notes, in particular, that "ISIS has committed the crime of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes against Yazidis, thousands of whom are held captive in Syria and are subjected to indescribable torture."16 June 2016, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada Stéphane Dion said in the Commons that "on the basis of the presented facts, our government believes that the genocide against the Yazidis continues," (Debate in the House of Commons, 1st session, Parliament of the 42nd convocation, 16 June 2016, page 1420, the Minister of foreign Affairs Stéphane Dion).
On 6 December 2016, the French Senate unanimously adopted a resolution recognizing ISIS's actions against the Yazidis as genocide, while also calling on the government to recognize the Yazidis ' genocide.
On December 8, 2016, the deputies of the National Assembly of France (together with the Senate is the Parliament of France) unanimously voted for the resolution on the recognition of the Yazid genocide, mass murder of Yazidis by ISIS. They also called on the French government to recognize the Yazidis genocide and refer the case through the UN security Council to the international criminal court.

In August 2014, after the genocide of Yazidis in Northern Iraq, the national Union of Yazidis of Armenia under the leadership of A. Tamoyan organized the collection of funds from the Yazidi community and other citizens of Armenia is in favour of the Yazidis of Sinjar; In 2014, national Yazidi singers Mamade Zurban and Karane Ahmad performed songs dedicated to Aziz Tamoyan.
