Meeting of the delegation of the National Union of Yazidis with the representative of Iraq in Armenia
The delegation of the Yezid National Union headed by President Khdr Hajoyan Tamoyan met with the Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Iraq to Armenia Mr. Mohammed Obaid Jebur Al-Maswdi. During the meeting, the
President of the Yezidi National Union raised the following important issues:
1. The problem of the release of Yezidi women and girls captured by IS terrorists in 2014, who are still in their captivity.
2. Facilitate the return of the Yezidi refugees displaced by genocide to their homes and provide them with refuge and security for their further residence.
3. To prohibit the presence of illegal security forces in the Yezidi region of Shangal (Sinjar), whose activities harm the civilian population. To leave only state forces on that region, which will consist only of Yezidis, who will be the guarantor of the security of their people and people living there.
4. For the Republic of Iraq to raise on international platforms the issue of Turkey's illegal military actions against the Yezidi region of Shangal, which intimidate the Yezidi refugees and prevent them from returning to their native lands.
