Iraq: budget includes project to build thousands of schools

The Iraqi Parliamentary Committee on Education announced the inclusion in the budget of 2021 of the project-the construction of thousands of schools across the country. Schools will also be built in areas where the Yazidi minority lives at the expense of a Chinese loan.

The head of the committee, a member of parliament, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "All the requirements for the construction of 1,000 schools were met with a Chinese loan, the finances will be sent to all provinces. The loan is included in the budget, and construction will begin after approval. The Department of Education and the relevant state agencies have already allocated land for the construction of schools."
