The MEPs call on the Georgian political forces to abandon their party interests, work constructively to resolve the crisis and avoid aggravating the already difficult crisis.

"We call on all political forces to abandon their party interests for the sake of Georgia's future, work constructively to resolve the crisis and avoid further aggravation of the already tense political climate. The stability of the country's parliamentary democracy and its European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations are worth the effort.

We strongly support the ongoing mediation efforts of the European Union, led by Christian Danielson, Personal Representative of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. We call on the political leaders to use this opportunity to reach a fair agreement, which is still possible, and to put the demands of the citizens of Georgia at the center of the discussion. We believe that the Georgian political class will fulfill its responsibility and find a way to resolve the current crisis, " the statement reads.

The MEPs emphasize that progress will be possible only after antagonism and polarization in Georgian politics are replaced by constructive cooperation.

"The European Parliament has always supported Georgia's desire for deeper relations with the EU. We have provided sustained political support to keep the country on its way. However, significant progress will be possible only when the antagonism and polarization in Georgian politics disappear and are replaced by constructive cooperation, and only after the state institutions properly perform their functions. We are ready to help Georgia in this difficult situation. As soon as the parties reach an agreement, in close cooperation with the Georgian Parliament, we are ready to implement a full range of measures for democratic support from the European Parliament," the statement said.
