The main goal of the program is to find out what consequences COVID-19 can leave on those people who have been ill with the virus.

In Georgia, the so-called post-ovarian examinations of patients who have suffered from coronavirus are beginning, in order to identify possible complications after the virus.

According to the head of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital Tengiz Tsertsvadze, 400 patients who have suffered from coronavirus will receive all the necessary tests free of charge, according to the random selection principle.

"These examinations are aimed at studying the pattern of post-ovoid syndrome. We have the entire list of the city's population who have suffered from the coronavirus. We do not know who has what manifestations, what percentage of this or that syndrome, so we conduct surveys. Believe me, this is a very large package and free of charge," Tsertsvadze said.

According to him, within the framework of the program, patients will be divided into two groups. The first group will include those who have suffered from coronavirus in a mild form. In the second - those patients who suffered from coronavirus in a severe form, were treated in intensive care. These groups need different observations and surveys.

The first case of coronavirus in Georgia was detected on February 26, 2020. At the beginning of the pandemic, by this time, more than 271 thousand cases of coronavirus were recorded in the country, of which more than 266 thousand recovered, 3,553 people died.
