Money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic systems in January 2021 increased by 19.2% and amounted to $ 149.8 million, according to the website of the National Bank of Georgia.

In January 2021, money transfers from Russia to Georgia were received by 11.4% less than in the same period last year. In January, the volume of money transfers from Russia amounted to about $ 23.2 million – 15.5% of the total volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks using electronic transfer systems.

More than $ 27.3 million – 18.2% of the total volume of money transfers to Georgian commercial banks via electronic transfer systems-was received from Italy during the specified period.

Recall that in April-May of last year, Italy for the first-time surpassed Russia and was the leader in the volume of money transfers to Georgia.

More than $ 17.2 million was transferred abroad from Georgia in January 2021, which is 6.7% less than in January 2020.
