The operation of restaurants and food facilities was suspended on November 28, when the epidemiological situation in the country became extremely difficult.

In Georgia, several restrictions are lifted from February 15, including the permission to open-air restaurants. Representatives of this field are skeptical about this innovation since many objects do not have the possibility of resuming work in open spaces.

"Of the existing restaurants, 25% have the opportunity to open in an open space, but not all of them can start working, because it makes no sense," said Shota Burjanadze, founder of the Georgian Restaurateurs ' Association, on Rustavi 2 TV channel. According to the owners of restaurants, for them a serious blow is the ban on the operation of food facilities on weekends.

"It can't be called a discovery, but we are still happy. We are skeptical. It is now February, winter, people will not want to sit in open spaces, and the restrictions on weekends are also a serious blow to this business, "said Merico Gubeladze, the founder of the Shavi Lomi restaurant.

The work of restaurants and food facilities was suspended on November 28, when the epidemiological situation in the country reached an extreme point. In Georgia, the hotline of the National Food Agency – 1501 has been launched for food facilities.

The restaurateurs announced the unauthorized opening on February 6, but after the government's decision to ease the restrictions, the decision of the business changed. From February 15, catering facilities will be able to receive guests in open spaces-except on Saturdays and Sundays.
