Internet will be made available in Pshavi, Khevsureti, Arkhoti, Ardoti and Gudamakari ravines, the Georgian PM Mamuka Bakhtadze’s 2018-2020 report says.

The project, which plans to provide Pshav-Khevsureti and Gudamakari with Wi-Fi internet was launched in March 2019.

The ravines of Pshavi, Ukana Pshavi, Piraketa (southern) Khevsureti, Arkhoti, Pirikita (northen)  Khevsureti, Ardoti and Gudamakari will be covered by the project.

Based on a decision of the National Council of Mountain Development the government has already partially allocated the required funds: 246,805 lari ($88,778.78/€79,236.83) while ISOC-Georgia has financed the project with $25,000(€22,312.46).

The project will be conducted in two stages: Piraketa Khevsureti and Arkhoti ravines will be initially covered which will be followed by Pirikita Khevsureti, Ardoti, Ukana Pshavi and Gudamakari ravines.

76 villages and four schools will be provided with internet during the project. A fixed IP telephone line will also be installed for 50 subscribers in the region.

A similar project was completed in 2017 in Tusheti and provided 24 villages and four ravines with internet.
