Iraq's Culture Minister leads plan to promote peaceful coexistence and cultural diversity
The Minister of Culture, Head of Tourism and Archeology, Hassan Nazim, ordered the release of an official "stamp" documenting the Lalesh temple, after a request from the representatives of the Yazidi delegation representing history and culture.
This was made during the reception of the Minister by the Yazidi delegation in his office. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Department of Religion Umaya Bayezid.
The delegation presented a number of proposals, including:
Support for Yazidi culture, the release of the Yazidi calendar, the restoration of Yazidi shrines, as well as support for creative teams and the promotion of cultural events, support for the publications of Yazidi authors and writers.
The Department of Arts has been assigned to deal with the above points, and it has also been decided to establish days of culture of Yazidi literature and art in Baghdad, which include exhibitions and various cultural events.
The Minister of Culture agreed to accept the books of Yazidi authors and writers and hand them over to specialists for publication.
These initiatives are aimed at promoting the Yazidi culture, which is an important part of the culture of Iraq.
