The head of the Center for Infectious Diseases and AIDS of Georgia, Tengiz Tsertsvadze, responded to the NDI study, according to which 41% of respondents believe that they would be vaccinated against coronavirus, and 41% refuse vaccination.

Tengiz Tsertsvadze calls on everyone to unite around vaccination. According to him, it is necessary to convince most of the population that the vaccine is necessary.

"I understand the natural skepticism of some people who don't want to make a vaccine. We should all try to put our differences aside; this country should be united. Experts of any political orientation, different views, should unite and convince most of the population to get vaccinated. 60-65% of the population represent target groups. If we achieve that 60-65% of the country's population is vaccinated, it means that we will have an immune layer in the country, to which will be added patients who have already suffered from the coronavirus and have natural immunity. This will be almost a one-hundred-percent guarantee that the next waves of pandemics and epidemics will not occur in the country. Separate meetings will be held with 20% of those who remain unvaccinated or without immunity, but this will not affect the country's economy or the activity of the business community, because the clinical sector will easily cope with them," Tsertsvadze said.
