The Ministry of Education of Georgia allowed the resumption of full-time studies in all schools of Georgia after February 15. This is stated in the statement of the department.

According to the decision of the authorities, from February 1, schools in all regions of the country will return to full-time education, with the exception of Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Rustavi.

"At this stage, it is planned to resume the educational process in the classrooms in Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Rustavi from March 1. On February 15, the epidemiological situation will be evaluated once again, and if the detection rate drops to 4% in seven days, discussions will begin on further easing," the statement says.

Currently, the detection rate is approximately 5%. Over the past day, the country has conducted about 11.3 thousand tests for coronavirus, of which 546 were positive.

On January 18, Georgia's public schools ended their winter vacation. Students were left on distance learning in 10 cities of the country – Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Telavi, Zugdidi, Zestafoni, Gori, Poti, Marneuli, Gardabani, as well as in all settlements of Adjara. Many children do not attend school for the third semester.

A protest action organized by parents of children of school and preschool age took place in the Mziuri park in Tbilisi. They demanded the early opening of educational institutions, and also called on the government to present a specific plan for the education sector, taking into account the interests of children and parents.
