Qasim Shesho, one of the leaders of the Yazidis in Iraq, said in an interview with ezidi24 on the «Bi Naf and Jaf» program that neither the «Sinjar Agreement» nor the current situation in the region serve the Yazidis. The Sinjar region is dangerous because it is in the vicinity of Shiite settlements and Iran is trying to expand its sphere of influence. I have nothing to do with any political party and am ready to defend the Yazidis in any place and at any time. The Governments of Baghdad and Erbil are responsible for the current situation in the area. With the security of the Yazidi population and a strong military presence of the Government, this would be sufficient to protect the region."

Qasim expressed his distrust of the two governments of Kurdistan and Iraq, believing that they could abandon the Yazidis at any time, as happened earlier in 2014.

It should be noted that Qasim Shesho had recently resigned from his membership in the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and from the leadership of the Peshmerga in the Sinjar region for reasons related to the interference of the parties in the religious affairs of the Yazidis.
