From August 27, 2020 to January 20, 2021, about 2.2 thousand citizens from 90 countries expressed their desire to participate in the "Work from Georgia" project, the press service of the Georgian government administration reported.

"Work from Georgia" is a project of the National Tourism Administration that accepts foreign citizens with high salaries who want to live in Georgia and continue their work remotely.

The Government of the country offers employees of various global companies operating in 95 countries of the world to come and work remotely from Georgia for at least 180 days. At the same time, those wishing to obtain an entry permit must provide a certificate of their income — at least two thousand dollars per month. According to this program, 742 people have already arrived in Georgia. According to forecasts, they will spend about $ 9 million in the country in six months. The arrival of 2,190 foreigners registered in the project, on average, is equal to their potential costs of $ 26 million over a six-month period, the Department of Tourism estimated. Of the foreigners who have already filled out the relevant application, 58% are self-employed, 26% work full-time and 16% are entrepreneurs.

International publications and tourist media platforms have expressed interest in the project "Work from Georgia". Articles about the project were prepared by the New York Times, Forbes, Insider, Big 7 Travel and other publications.
